Creating Order In Your Life || Get Your Life In Order || Bible Study Replay

Sep 06, 2023

While it is important to know “what” and “when” as it related to getting our life in order, it is important that we discover how.

If you haven’t heard or been able to catch the replay yet, this past Sunday I gave a message called “Bringing Order To Your Life: Discerning The Time”. The time could be…

  1. To Keep/Throw Away
  2. To Create
  3. To Build/Rebuild
  4. To Organize

These are the examples I gave from scripture in the message. What time is it for you?

In the replay linked at the endif this blog, we discuss what it practically looks like to create order like our Heavenly Father as seen in the Creation Story in Genesis 1 and Genesis 2:1-3. Here are some key highlights and questions to ponder as you seek to bring order to your life.

Creation Day 1

Genesis 1:1

  • God created. Like your Father, there are things you were created to create.

Genesis 1:2

  • What is formless, dark, and void in your life like the Earth's original state?
  • What did you create but still looks formless, void, and dark?
  • Everything that is created has to first them be formed.

Genesis 1:3-5

  • God said let there be...
    • What are you stating? What are you declaring? What are you calling forth?

Creation Day 2

Genesis 1:6-8

  • God made space. He created separation.
    • What space is needed in what you are creating?
    • Are you making room so things can further develop, grow, and evolve in the space?

Creation Day 3

Genesis 1:9-10

  • God is creating and naming
    • What is all over the place that needs to be gathered into one place so something else can appear?

Genesis 1:11-13

  • What must come forth when you bring order to what He has assigned to you?
    • What seeds begin to produce after its kind?
      • Ex. Habits, mannerisms, temperaments, preferences, etc.. that your seeds (children) pick up on.

Creation Day 4

Genesis 1:14-15

  • Notice God already separated the light from darkness and called light day and dark night in verse two.
    • So what’s the difference here?
      • The sky/heavens wasn’t created until day 2.
      • It’s not until day 4 that He allowed the light to be in the sky/heavens.
    •  Why?
      • Notice it was to set markings in times
  •  As you are creating, what times and markings are you setting?
    • What’s in a day, season or month for you?
    • What’s the markings in your schedule?
    • Have you made room for intentional time with Him?
    • Have you marked off time to do what He called you to do?
    • Is your schedule so busy and chaotic that you don’t have room?

Genesis 1:16-19

  • The blessing of both: The greater one and the lesser one.
    • What’s greater and lesser in your life that both produces results?
      • Is it your 9-5 and the your business?
      • Is it your ministry and the your job.
      • Is it your calling and then your job?
      • Which one are you treating as the greater?

Creation Day 5

Genesis 1:20-23

  • What are you filling in the space or spaces you have created?
    • Are you trying to put fish in the sky and birds in the seas?
      • Where is the flow off?
      • What’s flowing and swarming in your atmosphere (the sky) and your Spirit (streams of living water)?
  • Is what you have filled up in your space multiplying or dying?
    • What is God blessing ro breathing on?

Creation Day 6

Genesis 1:24-25

  • Notice He didn’t create all the animals in one day.
    • Stop trying to create it all in one day. Break it up!
  • What is reproducing in the space(s) you have created? What’s moving on the ground?
  • How are you reproducing yourself to further the vision and plan God has called you to cultivate.
    • Partnership: We partner with God to cultivate.

Genesis 1:26-31

  • Made in His image to be like them (God Father, Son, and Holy Spirit).
  • Instruction: Multiply and subdue.
  • Be masters over things (not people).

Creation Day 7

Genesis 2:1-3

  • Are you incorporating rest in your schedule?
    • Is your rest holy, sanctified and pure or more draining and bringing in chaos to the atmosphere of what you have created?
  • Being tired should not be the requirement for resting.
    • God rested because He completed His work.
    • Being tired and overwhelm is at times a signal that you have neglected rest.
    • Progress into a place where rest is a proactive measure instead of a reactive requirement.

Final Observations

  • God only blessed two thing: animals and man.
    • God only spoke to and gave instruction to only one of them: man.
  • Notice, God created man and delegated to them how He wanted them to cultivate that which He created before He rested.
    • He established the system before putting people in place.
    • The system was established before he rested and took a break.

Application

  • To create, you have to speak.
    • “God said, Let be…” is recorded 7 times.
    • What are you speaking?
  • You are called to lead.
    • On the 8th time, “God said, Let…” but this time He said “Us make…” Make what? Man in Our image.
      • We reflect God’s image by speaking, but one of the other ways we do is by leading.
      • Leaders create and maintain order.
    • What are you called to lead?
    • What dominion has He given you?
      • Notice: both man and women given the the ability, command, and authority to lead.
  • Evaluation throughout the process of creation is required.
    • Throughout the creation story we see that everything God made was made was good.
      • Notice it says each time that “He saw” or “He looked”
        • Are you taking the time to evaluate what you have been given dominion over?
        • Are you reflecting His image in your work? Is it good?
    • When you create, are you being like your Father?

Your Charge

Take time to go through the Creation story again and in partnership with the Holy Spirit, determine what steps you need to take so you can bring order to your life like God brought order to the Earth.
