Physical Training

“for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.” 1 Corinthians 9:25-27 ESV

Practical Questions & Steps

  •  Determine what level of exercise is required for what you are called to be.
  •  What type of exercise you enjoy engaging in the most?
  •  How can you make room in your schedule to prioritize engaging in exercise?
  •  Maximize your time
    • Prayer walk
    • Breaks
    • Eliminate executes by preparing in advance
  •  Partner with others for accountability

Discipline

“Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.” 1 Corinthians 9:25-27 ESV

Practical Questions & Steps

  •  Practice telling yourself no.

Practical Questions & Steps

  • Get a vision for your temple
  • Be on mission: reflect and evaluate weekly to see if you are staying on mission to glorify God with your body
  • Discern the time and season

Presentation

“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.” Romans 12:1 ESV
