The Deception of Self-Doubt || The Dangers of Self (Part 2) || FLC Bible Study Replay

Aug 28, 2023

It is time to put an end to partnering with self-doubt and realize the deception it has caused us to believe. If we are united with Christ, we must choose to break ties with self-doubt. To be who we are called to be, we must give up self-doubt to receive that which He has for us and become who He is molding us to be with our cooperation.

In this bible study, Pastor Michael Kilpatrick led us in seeing self-doubt in the Word of God through Peter's story of walking on water and Jesus' teaching the disciples about faith as a result of the withering of a fig tree.

Scripture References:

  1. Galatians 2:20

  2. James 1:2-8

  3. Matthew 14:22-33

  4. Mark 11:22-24

  5. Mark 9:17-27

  6. 1 Corinthians 6:20
  7. Philippians 4:12-13

Here are some key takeaways from the Bible study:

  1. Peter had faith to step out of the boat but lost faith to make it to the target/destination. There are times in our lives where we have the faith the step out but do we have the faith to get to?
  2. The deception is God call me to do this and now I have to hold myself up.
  3. To overcome self-doubt, you have to increase your faith in God.
  4. We have God The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit living on the inside of you. Because of this truth, we have the power to overcome self doubt…
  5. Yes, it your own strength you may have reason to doubt but you are not you anymore. So if it is the Lord leading you and is with you, you don’t have to fear or doubt where He is leading you or what He is leading you into.

We hope you enjoy the replay below and look forward to you joining us live for our next weekly Zoom Bible Study on Tuesday nights at 8:30pm EST.
