The Reality of Self-Reliance || The Dangers of Self (Part 3) || FLC Bible Study Replay

It is time to face the reality of self-reliance and receive the warning scriptures gives us about the consequences of being self-reliant. To be who we are called to be and fit to do so, self-reliance isn't the pathway we are to take as believers.

In this bible study, Pastor Michael Kilpatrick led us in seeing self-reliance in the Word of God through King Nebuchadnezzar's story and various other scriptures that provides instructions and insights on how we are actually suppose to live.

Here are some key highlights:

1. Pride led to the king needing to be humbled.
2. The king was restored once he came to the awareness of his own pride
3. Pride and fear has the same root: self-reliance. 
4. Sin is the reality of self-reliance. 
5. Realities of Self Reliance:
   1. Self-reliance leads to being cursed. Why? It causes your heart to be turned from God.
   2. Self-reliance leads to things being taken away. It causes us to focus on and put ourself before God.
   3. Self-reliance leads to us being taken away, cut off, or thrown away. It causes us to do and pursue things apart from God.
   4. Self-reliance leads to us impossibly trying to receive salvation in our own strength. It causes us to work to earn salvation versus receiving it by faith.
